SM City Puerto Princesa Spreads ChriSMiles to Bahay ni Nanay Kids

SM City Puerto Princesa once again lit up the Christmas season with its annual ChriSMiles—a heartfelt tradition where SM employees come together to share the blessings and bring joy to children. For years, ChriSMiles has been one of SM Cares’ most cherished programs, touching young lives with simple acts of kindness and reminding communities of the true spirit of the holidays.

This year, the mall extended its love and generosity to the 50 children of Bahay ni Nanay Religious Center, in partnership with the Marine Battalion Landing Team–9 and Palawan News, on December 5 at Kultura Square, SM City Puerto Princesa. The celebration overflowed with laughter and excitement as the kids received gift packs, grocery items, enjoyed lively parlor games, and were treated to a surprise appearance and dance number from Jollibee. Children also proudly showcased their own talents in singing and dancing.

Adding to the joy, the children were gifted with the 2025 Besties of Joy plush toys—Nana, Rumi, Hannie, and Tala—through SM Cares’ annual Buy-One, Donate-One campaign.

“We are so happy to give smiles and give back the blessings to the community this Christmas season,” Vera Lynn Catan, SM City Puerto Princesa CRS Regional Manager said.

Bahay ni Nanay Religious Center serves as a home that lovingly nurtures children turned over by the Local Social and Development Office of Palawan.

“Kami po ay nagpapasalamat na magkaroon ng ganitong activity ang ating mga bata. Nabigyan sila ng pagkakataong makapasyal dito sa SM at makatanggap ng regalo. Sa Bahay ni Nanay, ang ampon ay hindi lamang ampon—ito ay Anak, Magulang, Pamilya. Ordinaryo pero Natatangi.” Sr. Germa said.

To make the event even more meaningful, employees personally wrapped and distributed gifts, shared meals, and handed out Bears of Joy—each one symbolizing warmth, hope, and the gentle reminder that every child deserves love and happiness.

ChriSMiles is a nationwide employee volunteerism program of SM Supermalls, designed not only to bring smiles to its chosen beneficiaries but also to inspire SM employees to appreciate and share the blessings they receive throughout the year.

Across the country, thousands of SM Supermalls employees joined hands this Christmas season, spreading joy through various charitable initiatives and ensuring that the spirit of giving continues to shine brightly in every community they serve.
