SM City Puerto Princesa Celebrates Independence Day with Military Photo Display and Live Band Tribute
Puerto Princesa City – In commemoration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day, SM City Puerto Princesa mounted a patriotic celebration on June 12, highlighted by a Photo Static Display featuring the tactical capabilities and armaments of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and a Live Band Performance at the mall atrium.
Shoppers and guests were welcomed at the main entrance by a stunning visual showcase of military strength—complete with images of high-powered weaponry, defense equipment, and a Marine tanker of the 3rd Marine Brigade. The display, done in partnership with the Western Command (WESCOM), served to honor the dedication and sacrifice of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in defending national sovereignty, particularly in Palawan and the West Philippine Sea.
Inside the mall, a festive and emotional live band performance echoed through the atrium, captivating mallgoers with patriotic OPM renditions and timeless Filipino classics. The performance fostered a sense of unity and pride, celebrating the freedoms won through the courage and resilience of the Filipino people.
“This Independence Day, we are proud to partner with our local military forces to pay tribute to the brave men and women who continue to protect our country,” said Maidja Saliente, Mall Manager of SM City Puerto Princesa. “Through this event, we aim to inspire gratitude, awareness, and patriotism among the community.”
SM City Puerto Princesa continues to serve as a platform for civic engagement, cultural pride, and public education by hosting events that celebrate national identity and honor the country’s heroes.
