United States Provides Php55 Million in Humanitarian Assistance to Communities Affected by Typhoon Carina

Manila, July 31, 2024 —The United States government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing Php55 million ($1 million) in humanitarian aid to communities affected by widespread flooding triggered by Typhoon Carina, known internationally as Gaemi. Announced by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his visit to Manila on July 30, this assistance will address the immediate needs of affected and vulnerable communities in Bulacan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Lanao Del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, the National Capital Region, and Pampanga.  Through this funding, USAID, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services and Action Against Hunger, will provide families with access to food aid, hygiene kits, emergency shelter kits, clean water, and one-time cash transfers that will allow them to recover from the disaster safely and with dignity. Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan, inilunsad sa Puerto Princesa City

SM Prime widens the landscape in renewable energy

As part of its net-zero commitment by 2040, one of Asia’s leading real estate and property developers, SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime), partnered with global integrated energy company TotalEnergies for the installation of a 2 Megawatt-peak (MWp) Solar Photovoltaic ( PV) System Rooftop project in Pasay City. The partnership venture aligns with SM Prime’s efforts in expanding its renewable energy portfolio and affirms TotalEnergies’ commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions in various urban settings. Designed with a power yield of 3,000 Megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity annually, the solar partnership project has over 3,672 PV panels installed and is expected to provide huge cost savings for SM Prime. Cebu Pacific Celebrates Agreement for up to 152 A321neo Aircraft Order with Airbus, RTX’s Pratt & Whitney

FARNBOROUGH, England, July 22, 2024 - Cebu Pacific (CEB), Airbus, and Pratt & Whitney, held an official ceremony to commemorate a binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed for CEB’s purchase of up to 152 A321neo aircraft for the estimated USD 24 billion (PHP 1.4 trillion) based on list prices, the largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history. Pratt & Whitney is an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business.  The MOU covers firm orders for up to 102 A321neo, plus 50 A320neo Family purchase rights. Cebu Pacific to Resume Direct Iloilo Flights to Hong Kong

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, is set to resume direct flights between Iloilo and Hong Kong in October, offering a faster and more affordable way for travelers from the City of Love to visit one of Asia’s popular shopping and foodie paradise. Starting October 27, CEB will operate flights from Iloilo to Hong Kong four times weekly --- every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hong Kong to Iloilo flights will also operate four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. “With the resumption of flights to Hong Kong, CEB will be the only airline to operate international flights from Iloilo.
